Something useful to know

A few tips

  • Quick and easy round — Teven Valley, nine holes and twelve minutes away, or Ballina.

  • Best single round — Ocean Shores or Byron Bay.

  • No booking, no fuss — Chinderah is fully public and takes walk-ups.

  • Cheapest country golf — Coraki, Casino or Woodburn–Evans Head.

  • Green fees — generally $25–60 for eighteen holes across the region. Carts cost extra and usually need reserving.

  • Hire gear — most clubs hire clubs and buggies, but stocks are limited, so mention it when you book.

Just outside the 80 km radius, should you feel like a longer drive: Bonalbo (81 km), Burleigh Golf Club in Queensland (83 km), Robina Woods and Colonial (85 km), Woodenbong (95 km) and Grafton District (106 km). Coffs Harbour and the celebrated Bonville course are about two and a half hours south.
